Cardiovascular Laboratory
One
in five Americans suffer from some form of cardiovascular
disease. The cardiovascular laboratory conducts minimally
invasive catheter-based procedures to identify clinical
problems including stroke, carotid artery disease, abdominal
aortic aneurysm, and peripheral vascular disease. The
patient is placed in a supine position on an x-ray table and
a thin catheter (tube) is placed into the blood vessel
enabling Cardiologists to see arteries and the heart through
the use of an x-ray camera.
